In a refreshing break from their usual campus routine, the Student Representative Council (SRC) of ViTrox College embarked on a meaningful and memorable three-day engagement trip to Genting Highlands from 14 to 16 May 2025. Designed to build deeper connections, promote teamwork, and foster mindfulness, the retreat offered a balance of self-reflection, fun, and camaraderie.

Day 1: Arrival, Team-Building, and Shared Meals

The trip began with an early group breakfast before departing for Genting Highlands. Upon arrival at Vista Residences Genting Permai, participants settled in and enjoyed some free time to rest and recharge. The highlight of the evening was a series of structured activities and interactive team-building games, designed to enhance communication, trust, and collaboration among the group, which  helped break the ice and deepen trust among SRC members. These interactive challenges not only tested the group’s communication skills but also encouraged creative thinking and unity—all crucial traits for student leaders.

Laughter and friendly competition filled the air as everyone worked together to complete challenges. To wrap up the first day, the team prepared a DIY steamboat dinner, where participants chopped ingredients, set up the meal, and shared stories while cooking together. This hands-on activity not only encouraged teamwork but also created a warm, family-like atmosphere.

Day 2: Adventure and Bonding at Genting SkyWorlds

The second day took a more lighthearted turn, with the SRC students spending the day at Genting SkyWorlds Outdoor Theme Park. Roller coasters, thrilling rides, and group photos were the order of the day—injecting excitement and bonding through pure fun. From heart-racing roller coasters to immersive themed zones, every ride was a shared adventure.

This was a chance for everyone to let go, be themselves, and enjoy each other’s company in a different setting. It was a reminder that meaningful team building doesn’t only happen in structured sessions—it happens in the in-between moments, on shared rides, over snacks, and in conversations that unfold naturally.

Day 3: Gratitude and Reflection Goodbyes

On the final day, the team packed their bags and reflected on their experiences over lunch before heading back to ViTrox College Batu Kawan Campus. While the trip officially ended then, the emotional takeaway was long-lasting. The trip achieved more than just its planned itinerary. It nurtured a deeper sense of team spirit, highlighted the importance of empathy in leadership, and gave SRC members the space to bond in ways that can’t always happen in formal meetings or events.

For the SRC students of ViTrox College, Genting Highlands wasn’t just a destination—it became the backdrop for building friendships, memories, and a stronger foundation for future collaboration. This engagement trip will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on how these student leaders work together in their mission to serve the college community.
