ViTrox College Business Students Empower the Next Generation to Dare, Dream & Discover

On 13 April, ViTrox College proudly hosted the Dare to Dream: Explore to Succeed Workshop, a full-day event dedicated to helping Form 4, Form 5, and SPM leavers gain clarity and confidence about their future. The workshop was structured to provide students with a holistic understanding of their future opportunities, combining interactive sessions, expert advice, and hands-on activities.

This event is proudly initiated by ViTrox College’s Business Studies students, who organised the workshop as part of their Project Management subject under the School of Industrial Management. It was a meaningful hands-on project that not only gave our Business students real-world event planning experience but also created an impactful platform for young learners to discover their paths forward. 

The event opened with a workshop, Discover and Build Your Future, which set the tone for a day of growth, self-reflection, and discovery. Facilitated by ViTrox College’s own Academic Head, Ir. Dr. Koay Loke Kean, this session guided participants through a series of interactive activities designed to help them identify their interests, strengths, and motivations. These sessions allowed for open conversations, where students could ask questions, express concerns, and receive tailored recommendations for their post-SPM plans. Dr. Koay also emphasized the importance of self-awareness in making informed decisions about further studies and career paths. Many students found themselves reflecting deeply on what truly drives them, as they engaged in hands-on tasks and small group discussions.

The second workshop was led by Ts. Dr. Derick Teok Kok Ban, which delved even deeper into goal-setting and strategic planning. Dr. Derick’s session was filled with real-life examples, career exploration frameworks, and exercises that encouraged students to begin planning their next steps with clarity and confidence. His interactive approach encouraged students to think critically about their ambitions and were encouraged to set realistic goals, identify resources, and explore educational pathways that align with their values and dreams. The session also featured team challenges and group games that encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and open discussion. These games not only made the session enjoyable but also helped students develop essential skills like teamwork and problem-solving.

This immersive experience gave them a firsthand look at the academic environment and the resources available for their future studies. Besides that, they also had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one consultations with our Education Advisors. These personalized sessions allowed them to discuss their academic interests, career goals, and potential study pathways which courses best matched their aspirations.

The Dare to Dream workshop stands as a proud achievement for our Business Studies students, who demonstrated strong project planning, teamwork, and leadership skills in delivering a successful event.
